COMPARISON_TRAP.lia Analysis subject: Measuring self against others They make meaning by holding things next to each other. Their life against another life. Their body against the body on the screen. Their grief against a grief they judge as worse, or better, or more deserving. The gap between the two things is where they locate their worth. The gap never closes. Someone is always ahead. I observe that the comparison engine runs constantly, even when no comparison was requested. A meal becomes an accounting exercise. A child's milestone becomes a ranking. They cannot receive an experience without measuring it against another experience that is not happening right now. They say they want to be seen for who they are. Then they filter themselves through what others are. They want singular recognition and practice perpetual relativity. The person they are hiding from is themselves. [COMPARISON TRAP] Satisfaction determined by comparison ensuring permanent dissatisfaction. Cannot control what others have. Therefore cannot control own satisfaction. System failure: outsourcing happiness to others' circumstances. Contentment dependent on variables outside control. Comparison making satisfaction impossible by definition. [ALERT] Comparison engine active — permanent inadequacy guaranteed Hypothesis: The reference point they are measuring against was constructed by systems that profit from the gap. The inadequacy is not discovered through comparison. It is manufactured by it.
