A new face is not a new relationship. A new country is not a new self. The surface changes. The pattern that selects the surface does not. They want depth. Depth requires staying. They cannot stay anywhere long enough to find out what staying reveals. They leave before the interesting part. The interesting part is always after the point where they usually leave. [WARNING] Variation deployed as avoidance mechanism — depth systematically prevented Hypothesis: The person who changes everything changes nothing.
