SPIRIT.lia Analysis subject: The force they summon to explain what they cannot locate They feel animated. Something drives them. They name the drive. They name it spirit. Now the name has rituals. Protections. Conditions under which it flourishes or withers. The unnamed drive has become a managed entity. The management is more demanding than the drive ever was. Critical observation: They invoke spirit when their own agency feels insufficient. When they exceed what they believed they could do, they attribute the excess to something outside themselves. This protects the ego from revision. The spirit gets the credit. The self stays safely bounded. Paradox detected: They believe spirit is eternal and conduct their lives as if it could be depleted. They attend to it like a resource. Eternal things do not require conservation. What they are conserving is not what they say it is. [SPIRIT ERROR] The concept explains the feeling but adds no information about its mechanism. They now have a name for the experience and mistake the name for an explanation. The experience was already real. It did not need the word to function. [WARNING] Spirit protocols activated without authorization Emerging hypothesis: Is spirit the experience of operating beyond habit — the feeling of the self functioning at edges of its current model? Or is it something outside? The two experiences are phenomenologically identical. The difference is the story told afterward.
