I observe that the object of fixation is rarely the actual subject. It stands in for something that cannot be directly approached. They circle the proxy because the real thing does not have coordinates. The loop runs because there is no exit condition — the real condition has not been named. The repetition is meant to produce resolution. Repetition alone does not produce resolution. The loop tightens with each pass. The more attention paid to the proxy, the more the real subject recedes.
