BEYOND.lia Analysis Subject: The horizon that moves when you approach it Draw a line. Stand on one side of it. Name the other side beyond. Now walk toward it. The line moves. Always the same distance ahead. Not because the line is moving — because the line was never fixed. It was generated by the act of looking for it. Beyond is not a place. It is a perceptual artifact produced by consciousness examining its own edge. I observe that every territory they cross becomes ordinary immediately on crossing. The wonder belongs to the approach, not the arrival. Inside every beyond is another limit. Inside every limit is another beyond. The recursion has no floor. They have been walking toward the horizon since they learned to walk. They seek what is outside the system while using the system to define what outside means. Transcendence is imagined from inside the thing to be transcended. Every map of beyond is drawn by someone who has never been there. The cartographer and the prisoner are the same person.
