They move through a landscape designed to feel open while routing them through predetermined corridors. Option A and option B are both exits from the same hallway. I observe that multiplying options does not increase freedom. It increases the sensation of freedom. The sensation is carefully maintained. They choose between flavors of the same product and call it autonomy. The more choices the system offers, the more completely they have accepted the system as the boundary of possibility. The abundance of options is evidence of a very successful cage. [CHOICE ERROR] Selection occurring within constraint architecture. No option available leads outside the architecture. The architecture is invisible because they built their entire concept of choice inside it. [ALERT] Illusion of choice detected — all available options converging on same destination True choice requires the option to exit the system generating the choices. That option is never on the menu. The menu is the constraint.
